Sticky Rice Cake dessert called Nian Gao in Chinese, is commonly served during Lunar New Year, which represents "get a promotion or become better year by year". It is usually steamed, since oven is not quite common in kitchen of Chinese family's kitchen. This is a baked version of Nian Gao, which I like it more than steamed version, especially the crispy outside layer. A layer of toasted sesame seed makes it super-delicious. The gooey rice cake with sweet red bean paste and crispy outside makes you unable to resist devouring the whole cake!
