Pink Sauce Pasta with Shrimp

Pink sauce pasta is made by combining tomato sauce and heavy cream. It is called pink sauce because of its gorgeous characteristic pink or orange color. The color is produced by mixing cream and tomato sauce. It combines the flavor of tomato and creamy from heavy cream and cheese, super-delicious. In addition, it is easy to make. I used rotini, you can choose other pasta too. Follow the instructions, enjoy some great pasta!

Pink Sauce Pasta with Shrimp
Preparation Time: 10mins
Cooking Time: 20mins

ingredients

  • Rotini: 200g
  • Shrimp: 10(~150g with shell)
  • Tomato: 300g
  • Onion: 50g
  • Garlic: 5cloves
  • Butter(unsalted): 1tbsp(20g)
  • Heavy whipping cream: 1/2cup
  • Parmesan Cheese: 2tbsp
  • Salt: 1/2tsp
  • Ketchup: 1tbsp(optional)
  • Cooking wine: 1tsp
  • Parsley(fresh or dried): a pinch

Note: Pasta with above ingredients can serve for 2 people.

instructions

  • Prepare the ingredients, cut tomato, onion and garlic into small pieces; deshell shrimp.
  • Pre-boil 5cups of water in a pot, cook rotini for 10-15mins per instruction. Drain the pasta, set aside. Save 1/2cup stock for the sauce.
  • Pre-heat a pan with medium heat for 2mins, add 1tbsp butter, cook until melted.
  • Add garlic and onion, cook for about 2minutes.

  • Add tomato, continue cooking for another 2mins.
  • Add shrimp, cook until the shrimp’s color changes into slightly red.

  • Add 1tsp cooking wine, 1tbsp ketchup, 1/2cup of heavy whipping cream and 1/2cup of pasta stock. Stir and mix all ingredients well.
  • Bring sauce to the boil, add pasta. Mix and combine pasta with the sauce well.
  • Add 1/2tsp salt, 2tbsp parmesan cheese and a pinch of basil, mix well. Ready to serve.
